Catalina Cantina in Catalina Island

Drinks were delish.... Good is very "pre made".

Had a Pina Colada 👌👍 I highly recommend. Service was good. Food was good. Nice sit down restaurant/ bar along the walk path. Prices are reasonable.

Really great made-to-order margaritas. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Great mexican food with a fantastic view. They have a happy hour from 3-5pm with $3 domestic beers and $4 margaritas (not the flavored varieties though). Perfect for a nice relaxing stop and some people watching! The chicken quesadillas were spot on, but the shrimp tacos were messier than usual (they set them right on top of the beans). Our server kept forgetting about us, despite it not being that busy, otherwise it would have been a 5-star experience.

From the first moment you come to that restaurant team give you an excellent feeling. Very courteous stuff, it is a nice restaurant to pass time with buddies or with your date. Great cooking, specialist chief cook and stuff, competitive cost and professional service. Warmly recommended.

Here on a late dinner, food was great big plates that can serve two. The Quezadilla was very cheeze and chicken tasted good, my wife got the shrimp taco wich was bigger than a regular taco,like a very fat taco wich was good too. The carne asada burrito was giant, mom could not finish it by her self. Waitress was very nice, we had a very nice meal here and the place was nice.

Great time and our waitress Hiedi was fantastic. nice view of the main thoroughfare and great happy hour Margaritas.

Location is good,food was decent, service was okay but the interior of the place needs some serious love. The carpet could be original to when Catalina became occupied.

Not sure this food is authentic tasting but it was good and the atmosphere is nice. Plus the staff is very cool.

Nice atmosphere & a great place to come for a bowl of alcohol BUT vegans just know the veggie burger is filled with cheese. However the waitress was very helpful in pointing that out & local spots to check out.

Food is reasonably priced. The fajita tacos were really good. My friend had the veggie burger it was just all right. Lots and lots of tequila. That's what we come here for.

Not bad, but not great either. Service was good. But the food was kinda bland. Other better tasting places to eat and snack nearby. But this place is not bad for drinks and just hanging out.

A couple overheard us talking about walking across the street to the overwater restaurant for a drink. They indicated they were not allowed to be seated there unless they ordered food so we decided to go to Catalina Cantina. No arrogant rules here; we where greeted with open arms! We sat outside overlooking the harbor walk and had a great time. Super service, food, drinks and view; so why not go with the very Cool Catalina Cantina!

Great place to drink, eat, dance! Visited their establishment 3 times during our Catalina adventure and a good time was had by all.

Only had the chips and salsa. They were really good and the staff was friendly. Others in my group had food and drinks and no one had any complaints, so it must've been good too.

The food, and service was okay. Each time we went they seem to be short handed. The food was not worth the price at all. However, the happy hour $4 margarita was the best thing they had going. Have the happy hour margarita and eat elsewhere.

Karaoke + strong drinks make for an interesting evening lol

They were short staff, we waited what felt like a long time (when you're hungry). The place was packed and you can only see 2 persons waiting tables I'm sure we were there on one of those days when everything that can go wrong, will. The guy at the bar gave us a drink that was there before we even ordered it(That was the only thing that kinda bothered us). We sent it back and right away he made us a new drink which was pretty good. The nachos we got were okay.

Service was fine, but the food was....bar food, and not very good at that; I'm guessing everything has to be flown in or caught locally, so you'll get what you pay for - it's like Hooters food only not as good. Not the cleanest place either.

Like it is stated in the cantina. Come get really nice and full of drinks that are affordable on the island then wreck yourself on their nachos and then go take a walk and enjoy the island.

I love their special day for double cheeseburger with steak fries but meat is sirloin meats so thick yummy

Great little Mexican spot with awesome food and drinks! Love the atmosphere and the customer service is excellent and very much fits the laid back and chill island lifestyle that I feel I get everywhere in Catalina. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Food was ok though kind of greasy, expensive and slow service.

Such a laid back place to be love this Island we went bar hopping had a ball u have to take the boat ride down there is so awesome cant wait to go back .

Good food, cold beer

The food was pricey. The chicken in the torta was stringy and rubber-like. My friend ended up not eating that after a few bites. Not expected from a 15$ torta. The fish burger is ok and water is not complimentary at this and most restaurants in Avalon.

The food is expensive but the quesadillas were incredible. We ended up eating 4.

Always a fun place to go for food and drinks

This place was great! We went during happy hour and the drinks were very reasonably priced. It was right across from the bay, a great place to relax and people watch. Our waitress was great! Very nice and friendly. The service in general was excellent.

I was visiting the island and I walked into the restaurant and I wasn’t waited on for 10 minutes then my waitress came over wiping her nose. When she went to put in our order she was touching her hair and then adjusting her bra. Then I finally got my food which looked awful and there was a piece of hair in it so we left. I would not recommend this place.

Really good mexican food. Chips & Salsa were great to start with. Cheese Enchilada & Fajita Burrito were too tasty. Highly recommended.

One of the mainstays of a night on Catalina Island has always been live music from Gil Torres... well now Gil is at Catalina Cantina! Was great to hear him again!

Good food, good drinks, good location. Perfect place to just sit back have a drink enjoy an app and just take in the scenary.

It's decent. Like the rest of the island's food choices, high on price, low on quality. Still, given the island's choices, would eat there again.*Edit, Thank you Marissa. I will be sure to stop back in ext time I'm on the island. I have no complaints about the service, which was excellent, but the food tasted like plain old boring Sysco out of the can type ingredients. I assume it's difficult to get fresh ingredients on the island. Plus one star for your response. Thank you for your responsiveness.
